Hellenic World Responds to Israeli War Crimes in Gaza

As Israeli forces lays waste to the Gaza Strip for yet a third day, news reports estimate the loss of life to be roughly 364 dead and over 1,500 wounded. One of the most recent casualties of Israeli aggression were five young Palestinian sisters who died in their bed as Israeli air strikes hit the refugee camp their family lived in. I guess Israeli intelligence and their US made smart bombs must have mistaken the boogieman under their bed for a “terrorist”!

Meanwhile help from the Hellenic world comes in the form of medical aid from the island of Cyprus. These shipments are organized by an American based Free Gaza Movement who sail medical supplies donated by the nation of Cyprus to suffering Gaza Palestinians. "We are trying to materialize a humanitarian and medical mission and to send a message to the people of Gaza that they are not alone," said Eleni Theocharous, a doctor and member of the Cyprus parliament.

Inside Hellas itself, Hellenic police battled hundreds of protesters who staged a demonstration outside the Israeli embassy in Athens. The scene turned ugly as police fired teargas into the crowd, as protesters chanted anti-Israel and anti-US slogans and attempted to break the police barricade. The Hellenic world has taken a stand, we have made it clear to the people of Gaza and the entire Palestinian nation, We Hellenes stand beside you!
