The Traditional
Enemies of the Truth who pushed the pro-Turkish Annan Plan, aiming to forever
de-Hellenize and surrender Cyprus to Turkey, are now set at work writing and
promoting booklets for a new and improved “Cypriot “ Plan.

Vasilis Fouskas is not of Cypriot origin or heritage, his bio, and his booklet,
are on the Turkish website, www.beyoglu.pandora.tr,
Is, (in the Turk’s own words) as follows; “Vassilis K. Fouskas teaches
international relations at Piraeus University. His grandparents were Greeks from
the Western Asia Minor cities of Ayvalik and Edremit. In 1922 they moved to the
island of Lesvos, following the aborted Anglo-Greek attempt to eradicate Turkey
and Islam fom Anatolia. Vassilis has thus grown up in a refugee family
environment which, fortunately for him, praised the friendship of Turkish and
Greek peoples while damning Western imperialism. Vassilis' work has been
translated into more than ten languages.”

When the Select Committee on Foreign Affairs in London had asked for
contributions on ideas and comments on the Cyprus issue Fouskas publically
responded after Greek-Cypriot rejection of the Annan plan. In his statement
provided as written evidence, he stated the following arguments that promote
illegal economic development for Turks:

“Thus, Cyprus represents a unique challenge for the EU in that it provides the
best testing ground for the implementation of the acquis throughout the island.
This, first and foremost, can begin by boosting the social economy of the North…
Britain … should assist Turkish Cypriots economically and in terms of
reintegrating them with the Greek Cypriots.” Remarked Fouskas to the Select
Committee.

One more piece of information: Fouskas started his English career with Kingston
University and that is where he met Tackie a fellow academic at the University,
and together co-wrote this booklet. His studies were in economics.

Fanoulla Argyrou, a Greek-Cypriot refugee activist, journalist and author who
has lived in the UK since the 1970s told us “Takie is a total foreigner to the
Cyprus issue. The only connection he has is the fact that he was born in
Haringey, North London, an area with a big Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot
population – as far as the Greek Cypriots are concerned, in their majority they
are supporters of the British Labour Party (and AKEL of Cyprus). Haringey is
considered as a stronghold of the Greek Cypriot supporters of the Labour Party.

As far as I know his parents are not Cypriots. “Says Fanoulla Argyrou. (Read
Fanoulla Argrou’s review of the Fouskas/Tackie booklet on the website of TA NEA
newspaper of London:
http://web.mac.com/tanea_london/TANEAonLINE/Salt-Pepper2.html)

Meet Mr. Tackie, the answer to the Cyprus problem, here:
http://fass.kingston.ac.uk/faculty/staff/cv.php?staffnum=65

AKEL, incidentially, is the Communist party of Cyprus.

In fact, Tackie is not even born to Greek-Cypriot (or Greek) parents, his
heritage is from Ghana. A sad commentary on the state of affairs for the
official Cypriot “lobby” is this new reliance on a writer, who laces his booklet
with the word “bullshit” (literally), to provide the answer as to how to deal
with the Turks.

Regardless, it was AKTINA FM (recipient of government monies and community
monies) and its reporter Demetrios Rhompotis
(writer of “NEO” a magazine glossy of photo-ops flooded with Cypriot “lobby” ad
money) in New York, that rushed to promote Tackie’s and Fouskas’ solution to the
Cyprus problem.

In the interest of educational purposes and fair play we provide the following
critique by Leonidas Leonidou of “CYPRUS, the Post-Imperial Constitution by
V.K.Fouskas and A.O.Tackie”.

(THE FOLLOWING ARTICLE IS REPRODUCED FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES)

A critique on the book CYPRUS, the Post-Imperial Constitution
by V.K.Fouskas and A.O.Tackie

This 110 pages booklet was published earlier this year. The whole philosophical
approach of the book is based on the wrong assumptions and shows a superficial
understanding of the Cyprus issue and history in general.

It is evident that the authors, in one stream of their thoughts, start from
their wrong conclusion that the Cyprus problem can only be resolved by two
leftist community leaders and make a desperate attempt to prove it right by the
use of their “humbug” and “bullshit” theories.

The book suggests that the Cyprus issue and the de facto situation ended as a
bicommunal dispute and not an issue of invasion, occupation of one country by
another resulting in the violation of many basic human rights. By doing so it
reduces the impact and the full control that Turkey exerts on the Turkish
Cypriots and suggests that the goodwill of the two leaders could solve the
problem.

It also puts aside the issue of the continued violation by Turkey of the
founding agreements of the Republic of Cyprus including that of sovereignty the
restoration of which the neighbouring country used as pretext for the invasion
of Cyprus.

There are too many historic inaccuracies. I mention here a couple: The 1950
Referendum was not for self-determination but for Enosis and was not done by
Archbishop Makarios II and not III. George Papandreou sent an army division in
1964 in a desperate Greek attempt to face the almost daily invasion threats made
by Turkey and not for a regime change. It also suggests that in 1964 the
Americans sent General Grivas to Cyprus in order to implement the Acheson plan.
This constitutes a gross inaccuracy of the historic facts. Grivas rejected the
Acheson plan.

One other inexcusable simplification in the book is the parallelizing of TMT
with the action of the EOKA campaign. Yet the differences are so fundamental and
obvious even to those unacquainted with the island’s history.

But the most sticking omission of this study is the failure to highlight a
fundamental difference: In Cyprus, an 18% minority taking advantage of these
policies and of the political inadequacies of the 82% Greek majority leadership
managed to drive Cyprus into a political turmoil for almost a century and
achieve their unfounded, unjust and inhuman goal: partition, created by the
British imperialistic and Turkish expansionist foreign policies. On the other
hand the exercise of the right of Self determination was a moral and just
process in resolving majority-minority issues. It was guaranteed for the small
nations by the Atlantic (1941) and Potomac (1954) charters. In 1939 Turkey
applied it to annex Alexandreta with only a majority of 57% and Britain
masterminded its application for Gibraltar to stay British in 2002 and 2005 with
a majority of 60%.

In summary, the historic inaccuracies and the shallow understanding of the
Cyprus issue by the authors puts a shadow on what they set out to do i.e. that
the isolation of the Turkish Cypriots is a fallacy. Yet, for an expert analyst
this should not present such a difficult task.

Leonidas Leonidou
author

London June 2009
####

========================
Cyprus Action Network of America (CANA)
2578 Broadway #132
New York, NY 10025
New York: Tel. 917-699-9935
Email: cana@cyprusactionnetwork.org
www.cyprusactionnetwork.org
========================

The Cyprus Action Network of America (CANA) is a grass-roots, not-for-profit
movement created to support genuine self-determination and human rights for the
people of Cyprus.

To be added to CANA's Action Alert e-mail distribution list, or to introduce
CANA to a friend or colleague, please forward the pertinent name and e-mail
address, with the subject heading "Add e-mail to CANA distribution list", to
cana@cyprusactionnetwork.org

You are encouraged to forward this action alert to five or more individuals who
may have an interest in our e-distributions or in CANA’s mission.

You may post any CANA article, press release or action alert on the internet as
long as you credit CANA and the author(s).

Archangeloshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07744354270070129352noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7916833225395274095.post-14394647209474942522009-06-30T19:32:00.001-07:002009-06-30T19:51:13.842-07:00Important Notice to all Patriots OnlineIt has recently been brought to my attention of an Anti-Hellenic campaign occurring on the very popular web site Wikipedia. The campaign is centered on the Macedonian name dispute between Athens and Skopje. Seeing as Wikipedia is the main source of information for the average citizen of the world, it is extremely important for patriots to join in the discussions and defend the Hellenic Legacy of Macedonia.

Statement of question

* What title should be used for the article about the country constitutionally known as the Republic of Macedonia?

* What should the article named simply "Macedonia" be about?

Statement of question

* What titles should be used for the sub-articles dealing with the Republic of Macedonia or other Macedonias?

Statement of question

* What designation should be used to refer to the country constitutionally known as the Republic of Macedonia in articles not covered by the special cases of Greece-related articles and articles related to international organizations?

Statement of question

* What designation should be used for the country constitutionally known as the Republic of Macedonia on articles about entities that do not refer to the country by its constitutional name?

Statement of question

* What designation should be used to refer to the country constitutionally known as the Republic of Macedonia in articles related to Greece?

Anti-Hellenic propaganda must be fought on all fronts!

Archangeloshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07744354270070129352noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7916833225395274095.post-63520294273116975692009-06-26T08:32:00.000-07:002009-06-26T08:33:45.116-07:00The Washington Times Prints HLA Letter to the Editor on Macedonia Name IssueFor Immediate Release: June 26, 2009

Contact: Nikolaos Taneris, New York, Tel. 1-917-699-9935

NEW YORK-Today, June 26, 2009, The Washington Times published Hellenic League of
America (HLA) Press Officer, Nikolaos Taneris’ letter to the editor, responding
to The Washington Times report ("No names, please," Embassy Row, World, June
12) regarding the Macedonia name issue. The country Mr. Bocevski hails from is a state that was part of
the former Yugoslavia, an artificial political construct that waged war on
Greece during the immediate aftermath of World War II.

The name "Macedonia" was originally bestowed on the region buttressing Greece by
the dictator Josip Broz Tito, who funded and armed a military campaign fighting
for partition of our land and people. It was concocted primarily by the
Comintern and carried out with the most callous disregard for the basic human
and linguistic rights recognized in modern Europe. It remains one of the gravest
political crimes of all time and continues to stain the history of Europe and
the United States. Imagine cutting a living human being limb from limb. This is
the legacy of the Greek Civil War, a war fueled by communist forces seeping in
from the porous borders of northern Greece and Macedonia.

The Macedonia of Alexander the Great was, and forever will be, Hellenic -- not
Yugoslavian. It is time that Mr. Bocevski end his country's isolation by
embracing the Hellenic origin of Alexander, one of Europe's greatest sons. Stop
denying the past and dispense with false historical revisionism. It smacks of
genocidal ideologies of a discredited era.

NIKOLAOS TANERIS

Press officer

Hellenic League of America

New York City
----------------------------------

The Washington Times
Report published on Friday June 12, 2009
EMBASSY ROW by James Morrison
NO NAMES, PLEASE

The new deputy prime minister of Macedonia declined repeatedly Thursday to
discuss the one issue that is keeping his country out of NATO and the European
Union.

Ivica Bocevski told reporters at the National Press Club that the dispute with
Greece over the formal name of his nation is the responsibility of other
Macedonian officials, who are negotiating with their Greek counterparts.

Greece objects to the use of the name, Macedonia, because it is a region in
modern Greece and historically associated with Alexander the Great. Although
Alexander was born in the capital of ancient Macedonia, his birthplace has long
been part of modern Greece.

Greeks say Macedonia hijacked the name to establish a stronger claim to
Alexander, even naming the national airport after the Greek conqueror and
planning an eight-story-high statue of Alexander in the Macedonian capital,
Skopje.

Greece continues to object to Macedonia's membership in NATO and the European
Union until the name dispute is settled. The country was admitted to the United
Nations under the provisional name of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.

The United States and more than 120 other nations recognize the country as
Macedonia.

Mr. Bocevski, on his first visit to Washington as deputy prime minister, talked
around the name dispute, as he complained of problems from Macedonia's isolation
from European institutions.

He noted that his mother traveled throughout Europe on a Yugoslav passport when
Macedonia was a province in the former communist nation. But since independence
in 1991, Macedonians have been required to get visas to visit other European
countries because the nation is not part of the European Union.

Mr. Bocevski, who will turn 32 next week, said most of his generation of
Macedonians have never traveled outside their small Balkan nation.

"Closing the borders has also closed the minds of a generation of Macedonia," he
said, adding that the isolation can cause a political backlash against Europe.

"Macedonians could fall prey to xenophobes and populists in the region," Mr.
Bocevski said. "Closing the region has only made the situation worse."

He is meeting with State Department officials and members of Congress and
speaking at a conference on Macedonia.
####

Read the report by artist and activist Giovanni di Napoli on the gathering of
Friday, May 29 2009, for Hellenic National Issues at the Pan-Macedonian Studies
Center in New York.

Napoli’s report titled “HLA Symposium was a big success” is available at
Magna GRECE Online journal:
http://magnagrece.blogspot.com/2009/05/hla-symposium-was-big-success.html

STAY TUNED FOR THE HELLENIC LEAGUE RADIO PODCAST , COMING SOON!
_________________
Join our E-list on the web at www.hellenicleagueofamericahla.org

The Hellenic League of America (HLA) is a cooperative and collective effort by
Hellenes, Phil Hellenes and Hellenic enthusiasts who come together for the
Hellenic Cause.

To be added to HLA's Action Alert e-mail distribution list, or to introduce HLA
to a friend or colleague, please forward the pertinent name and e-mail address,
with the subject heading "Add e-mail to HLA distribution list", to
hla@hellenicleagueofamericahla.org

You are encouraged to forward this action alert to five or more individuals who
may have an interest in our e-distributions or in HLA’s mission.

You may post any HLA article, press release or action alert on the internet as
long as you credit HLA and the author(s).

Archangeloshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07744354270070129352noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7916833225395274095.post-64438227196974176742009-06-21T22:08:00.000-07:002009-06-23T22:22:52.710-07:00Athens – Skopje: The True Solution to the Macedonian Question 2009For nearly twenty years, Hellas and Skopje have been unable to solve their long standing dispute over the right to the call Macedonia and its history their own. To many outsiders, the issue seems ridiculous, two countries fighting over a name. Many ask who is Hellas or Skopje to claim the rights to history or to tell another country who they are? This ongoing conflict, however, isn’t about controlling the rights of history nor is it about one country trying to dictate another’s name. It is about a new ethnic consciousness searching for its own identity to legitimize their newly found independence, while another ethnicity fights to preserve its own identity against theft.

A real solution will not be found in compromises that allow dual names or geographical indicators. Only to be ‘suggested’ to the international world to adopt, while revisionism continues against Alexander the Great and Ancient Hellas. The underline issue will not be solved and problems between Athens and Skopje will reemerge at a later date. Perhaps this is what the world wants, to keep Athens and Skopje as little pawns in their own political plans for the Balkans. How else can you explain such name solutions like the ‘Republic of Northern Macedonia”, “New Macedonia”, or “Macedonia (Skopje)”. None of which solve the underlining issue at the core of the name dispute, which is the need for Slavs of Skopje to find their own unique identity. Each one of these names allows for the continued identity theft of the Macedonian history and culture from Hellenes. The irrendist and revisionist attacks from Skopje will not end whether they are official called “Northern’ or “New”, they will continue to identify as ‘Macedonian’ and will continue to distort Hellenic history to create a new warped ‘Macedonian ethnicity’, which will eventually lead to a military confrontation.

The best solution for all parties is one that allows for the people of Skopje to continue identifying themselves as ‘Macedonians’ and allows for the continued protection of the Hellenic history and identity. The only plausible outcome would be for Skopjean to reject Slavism and embrace Hellenism. If the Skopjean were willing to officially except the historical Hellenic identity of Macedonia, adopted the real Macedonian language – Hellenic and unite with the Hellenic state as fellow Hellenes. Peace and stability would finally come to the Balkans. This would allow for Macedonia to remain securely apart of Hellenism and for Skopjeans to truly become Macedonians, the Hellenic identity they are so obsessed with. However, this possibility does not seem likely.

The most logical name suggestions like, Republic of Skopje, Central Balkan Republic and Vardaska have all been dismissed by Skopje. We are since forth forced to look at new possibilities for a name solution. One such possibility is Paionia. This ancient kingdom found north of Macedonia was located mostly inside the present day borders of Skopje. This allows the Skopjean to adopt an ancient identity without infringing on Hellenism or any of their neighbors ethnic identities. The next possibility is Dardania, an ancient kingdom which once controlled part of Northern Skopje. This seems to be the best solution on several different levels. First the Skopjean would finally break with Slavism and readopt Illyrianism, a cultural movement that began in Croatia and laid the path of the concept of Yugoslavism. Second the adoption of Illyrianism over Slavism will help relations with the country’s largest minority group, the Albanians. This name would bridge the gap between Skopjean and Albanians and bring harmony and peace to their young country. My third and final suggest for a name solution is the Bulgar Republic of Macedonia or Republic of Bulgar Macedonia. Skopjean could identify as ‘Bulgardonians’, a name that takes their Bulgarian ancestry and partial geographic location, and fuses them into a new identity for Skopje.

Archangeloshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07744354270070129352noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7916833225395274095.post-58480859475161453192009-06-12T11:51:00.000-07:002009-06-12T11:52:40.666-07:00Cyprus Vigil 2009-- Open Ended! The young party picked up its second seat in the EU Parliament, jumping from 4.12% to 7.15% in these recent elections. What does this mean for a party that critics view will never be a contender against such giants as PASOK and New Democracy? It means a patriotic alternative does exist in Hellas. It shows that against all the odds and criticism, LAOS is still continuing to grow and expand its influence. LAOS has showed that even in the face of low voter turn out that it will not just fade away like the establishment wants, but rather their voice will get louder. Those Skeptics, who claim LAOS will never be popular enough to usher in real change, are wrong to say so. As long as LAOS continues to rise in popularity, which it is, they have a bright future before them. Patriots across the political spectrum must be patient and join LAOS. Change will not come over night, it will come slowly, but change can and will come. Skeptics of the party should take note, that Popular Orthodox Rally is the only patriotic political party in Hellas that has been able to receive a good turnout come Election Day. In fact, the party continues to out do itself each and every time it has participate in elections since its creation in 2000. In only 9 years, LAOS has been able to gain more than any other patriotic party in modern times.

LAOS needs to continue growing as a viable opponent to the status quo, which many Hellenes are upset with. LAOS must incorporate those remaining minor parties under its leadership, and should even reach out to others like the Greens, to secure a larger voice inside the Hellenic parliament. Differences aside, LAOS’ building momentum must not be wasted. If real patriotic change is ever to come to Hellas, patriots must set aside minor differences and unite under one banner. Smaller parties like, Democratic Revival, the many Green parties, and even the Union of Centrists should be approach. Often overlooked, the environment is a patriotic issue, which LAOS should develop its position on. Patriots mustn’t forget that it is also ones patriotic duty to respect and care for the very soil and wildlife of Hellas. The potential of uniting these voting blocks would secure LAOS the position of 3rd largest party in Hellas. Once this is accomplished the next step of organizing the Diaspora for support should begin. LAOS has proven itself as a political party able to spread its message in a manner that brings out supporters when it matters, Election Day, and they have my support.

Keep up the Good Work!

Zhto H Ellada

Archangeloshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07744354270070129352noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7916833225395274095.post-21501617319524168812009-06-06T17:49:00.000-07:002009-06-06T18:00:46.092-07:00Όλοι Ελλάδα Ένα'A war is approaching Hellenism, and this war will be like none before it. It will be a war that will destroy not only the artificial borders that define the Hellenic state, but also destroy the very identity of Hellenism, hoping to prevent its resurrection, if all ethnic Hellenes are not united. If patriots have ever been in need of a rallying cry, that time is now! The “Left”, a coalition of Socialist and Communist political fractions, followers of foreign ideologies that forget that there is no ‘Left’ or ‘Right’, but those who participate for the glory of Hellenism and those who do not. It is the “Left” that proclaims to work in the interest of the Hellenic People, yet betrays Hellenism at the flip of a coin. The agents of ‘Greater Albania’ eye the historical land of Epirus, whose Northern lands continue to lay under foreign occupation. Ethnic Hellenes of Northern Epirus are forgotten by the elite in Athens, who have done nothing against radicals who dare to revise the identity of ancient Epirus and lay claim to its many heroes who lived and died for Hellenism. Anti-Hellenists of Skopia, follow the same pattern, as they oppress true Ethnic Macedonian Hellenes in Pelagonia and continue their revisionist claims on the history and legacy of Macedonia. They are left unchecked by traitors who claim to be negotiating a solution with those who would dare to steal our very souls! The Turk is on the rise and his claims on Cyprus and Thrace, as well as his continued violations of Hellenic Airspace will not just fade away, the continued religious persecution of Orthodox Hellenes in Turkey hasn’t. The Worlds one great power, the United States, our supposed ally has made their position clear that they will side with the enemies of Hellenism, rather than the birthplace of democracy and Western Civilization. It therefore falls upon the shoulders of patriots to unite and carry the banner of Hellenism to victory under a glorious cry.

“Όλοι Ελλάδα Ένα

Athens is a battlefield waiting to erupt between illegal immigrants and ethnic Hellenes. The system is unable to handle the growing illegal immigration crisis, and fails to prevent the desecration of Holy sites of Hellenism and crimes against innocent indigenous Hellenes. Patriots are condemned for their actions to defend Hellenism by confused and misguided Hellenes, used as ‘tools’ by the Left, to prevent a united front against these issues, while the elite leadership of Athens prospers and its people suffer. We are not indebted to these Illegal’s who left their countries because of political corruption and little economic opportunities. It is not our duty to carry the burden of providing basic rights of man for them nor is it the Hellenic state’s responsibility. These foreigners must not be used as ‘tools’ by warring political parties inside the Hellenic world, as scapegoats or pawns. Rather we must show them true and honorable Hellenic hospitality, a good meal, fresh clothing and then send them on their way. There is no place for them inside Hellas, this is neither racist nor politically incorrect, but rather the truth. Ethnic Hellenes must be united on this issue, Hellas can only provide for its own kind and hence these illegals must leave our shores!

Our identity is under attack by Revisionists who wish to rewrite the Hellenic legacy and identity of Macedonia and deliver it into the hands of warped ‘Macedonist’ Slavs and Ethnic Hellenic Communists who are no longer aware of their Hellenic origins. They wish to blind the world to this national ‘identity theft’ and allow for generations across the globe to be ignorant to the historical truth that Macedonia and Alexander the Great are apart of Hellenism, just as Ancient Sparta and the numerous city-states are also apart of Hellenism. We must rally under the accomplishments and identity of our ancestors and defend their memory until our last breath on this great earth. For it is because of them and their great sacrifices that we are here today has Hellenes.

“Όλοι Ελλάδα Ένα“

The Global Economic Crisis is one that affects every single ethnic Hellene. It must not be used as a source of division between the Hellenic people. We mustn’t fall prey to propaganda which breeds animosity amongst our own ethnic kin. Rather we must use this crisis to reexamine our economy and political system, to do away with foreign aspects our current systems hold and return to our ancient roots. To bred a nation that is green and self-sufficient, able to provide for all Ethnic Hellenes, and defend against acts of Anti-Hellenism where ever they may be!

Finally we must also work to end prejudice against Ethnic Hellenes living in the Diaspora or in occupied parts of the Hellenic world, such as Northern Epirus, Pelagonia, Magna Graecia, Cyprus, and Northern and Eastern Thrace. We must openly embrace all ethnic Hellenes and work towards the rebirth of Hellenic identity in some cases and the return of Hellenes to their ancestral homelands in others. So that all of Hellas may be free.

The time is now patriots of Hellenism. Will we continue to allow Hellenism to travel down a road of no return, to be the next country on the chopping block, to be torn apart and divided by our enemies and their business partners in the West? Will we stand by as our history and identity is taken from us, while our people are left to economic ruin? The time to bring honor to our ancestors is upon us. It is up to each and every patriot to work for the continued survival of the Hellenic people.

In the Gods we trust
“Όλοι Ελλάδα Ένα“

Archangeloshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07744354270070129352noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7916833225395274095.post-47305555376322379962009-06-01T15:16:00.000-07:002009-06-01T15:17:36.804-07:00Official Press Release: HLA Symposium was a big successFor Immediate Release: May 31, 2009

Contact: Nikolaos Taneris, New York, Tel. 1-917-699-9935

NEW YORK—The Hellenic League of America (HLA) distributes a report provided by
artist and activist Giovanni di Napoli on the gathering of Friday, May 29 2009,
for Hellenic National Issues at the Pan-Macedonian Studies Center in New York.

Napoli’s report titled “HLA Symposium was a big success” is available at
Magna GRECE Online journal.

Archangeloshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07744354270070129352noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7916833225395274095.post-24020679247915318172009-05-30T13:53:00.001-07:002009-05-30T13:56:23.002-07:00The Sun of Vergina is my crossFar for to long we, Hellenes, have identified ourselves under a blue and white cross, rather than rallying under a historical Hellenic banner to show our pride and continuity with our ancient roots. The time has come for the Hellenic people to shed this alien symbol and replace it with a Pan-Hellenic one which best represents Hellenism as a whole, this symbol is the Sun of Vergina. Hellenism must embrace this ancient symbol, which unites us, and raise it high with pride. We must stamp every building, every monument, and every cultural center with the Sun of Vergina. We must replace the symbols of the state of Greece with ones that proudly displace this ancient Pan-Hellenic sun, the Sun of the Hellenes. This however will not happen without average everyday Hellenes saying ‘The sun of Vergina is my cross’ and proudly displaying it, raising it on their flag polls, voicing this belief to other Hellenes and so on.

For more information on the Sun of Vergina please read The Sun Of Vergina - The Sun Of The Greeks

Archangeloshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07744354270070129352noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7916833225395274095.post-91809963077225773532009-05-30T06:41:00.000-07:002009-05-30T06:43:34.634-07:00CYPRUS LOST A FRIEND TODAY:IN MEMORIAM - LAMBROS PAPANTONIOU – ΛΑΜΠΡΟΣ ΠΑΠΑΝΤΩΝΙΟΥ (4 Ιουλίου 1945 – 28 Μαΐου 2009)For Immediate Release: May 28, 2009

Contact: Nikolaos Taneris, New York, Tel. 1-917-699-9935

NEW YORK--Lambros Papantoniou passed away this morning. Have they no shame…no honor? How can a man like Archbishop Demetrios present an Anti-Hellenist with an award that contains the very soil of Hellenism? When will the leadership of the Hellenic-American community stop living off sad little photo-opts and actually start working for the interests of those they claim to lead?

In a press release issued by the Coordinated Effort entitled “New Administration Continues High Profile Focus on Hellenic and Orthodox Issues”, it says, “Secretary Clinton has played an important role in beginning to slowly turn the huge ‘American ship of state’ in a just direction on issues regarding Hellenism and Orthodoxy, but it still has a long way to go to make up for the damage of recent years.

I’d like to know in what world does the ‘Coordinated Effort’ live in, which makes them believe any attention, let alone ‘High Profile Focus’ exists on Hellenic issues? What ‘important role’ has Secretary Clinton played in ‘turning the huge American ship of state’ towards a just direction on Hellenic issues? Perhaps they are speaking about the disrespectful meeting between Mr. Obama and the Patriarch, who Mrs. Clinton claims to have so much admiration for. Maybe it was that announcement that the new administration would follow in the footsteps of the Bush administration and continue to recognize Skopia as ‘Macedonia’, only adding to the Nationalistic, Revisionist and Anti-Hellenic stance of the current government of Skopia. These awards and photo-opts have more to do with business networking and bragging rights than actual lobbying efforts on behalf of Hellenism.

Archangeloshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07744354270070129352noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7916833225395274095.post-4084476433236991892009-05-24T09:16:00.000-07:002009-05-24T09:35:14.561-07:00Clashes at Greek Quran protestFriday, May 22, 2009
21:07 Mecca time, 18:07 GMT

Clashes have erupted between police and predominantly Muslim protesters in Athens, the Greek capital.

About 1,000 protesters took to the streets on Friday following reports that a police officer tore up a Quran, the Muslim holy book, belonging to an Iraqi immigrant while checking his identity papers.

These recent riots which have erupted between the Hellenic police and illegal Muslim immigrants in our nation’s capital just add to a long list of reasons for the deportation of all non-Hellenes from Ellada. Lately some intellectual Turks have tried to settle with their history by publicly apologizing for the actions during 1915. This reconcile-process has however not reached the impact that many had hoped for and was subdued in Turkish media.

During the Seyfo-Genocide 1915, two thirds of the Assyrian population were eliminated in the Ottoman empire. Houses, land and villages were taken by Kurdish clans whom took part in the killing of Assyrians.

Berzan Boti inherited a house and big land areas from his father. This was property that later was discovered to belong to the Assyrians that had been murdered during Seyfo. Two years ago Berzan Boti contacted Seyfo Center with the intention to hand back this property.

During a press-conference Berzan Boti will return title deeds to Sabri Atman, the chairman of Seyfo Center. “The sense of guilt was indescribable when I had been told where this property had derived from. The only right thing to do was to apologize and return the property to its rightful owners” - said Berzan Boti in an earlier interview.

The press-conference will take place in the Swedish Parliament. The hostess of this event will be Annelie Enochsson (kd). During the conference several members of the Riksdag, experts in public international law and historians will hold speeches.

Registration

Due to shortage of seats only registered guests will be allowed in to the conference. We encourage the distribution of this
report, and the forwarding of this press release.

(THE ARTICLE BELOW IS REPRODUCED FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES)

URL: http://hellenicantidote.blogspot.com/2009/04/european-court-finds-in-favour-of-greek.html

European court finds in favour of Greek Cypriot refugee ,Tuesday, 28 April 2009
by Hellenic Antidote blog

The European Court of Justice (ECJ) has ruled that Meletios Apostolides, a Greek
Cypriot refugee from Turkish-occupied Lapithos, near Kyrenia, can reclaim land
he was uprooted from by the Turkish invasion in 1974 and which was subsequently
'bought' by an Anglo-Jewish couple, Linda and David Orams.

Apostolides initially took the Orams' to court in Nicosia in 2005, which decided
that the Britons should knock down or hand over to him the villa with swimming
pool they had built on his land and pay him compensation and rent for the
deprivation and use of his property.

When the Orams', with the protection and full backing of the Turkish-occupation
regime in northern Cyprus, refused to recognise the Nicosia court's ruling,
Apostolides sought to have it enforced in the UK, where the Orams' permanently
reside, on the principal that judgments in Cypriot courts have to be recognised
in all other courts in the European Union.

The High Court in London in 2006 found that while it accepted that Apostolides
owned the land in Lapithos; Cypriot – and by extension EU – courts did not have
effective jurisdiction over Turkish-occupied Cyprus and, therefore, the Nicosia
court ruling against the Orams' could not be enforced. (The judge also awarded
costs of £863,000 against Apostolides, a substantial amount of which was to be
paid to 'human rights' lawyer Cherie Blair – former prime minister Tony Blair's
wife – who had been hired by the Turk/Orams' side).

Apostolides appealed the High Court decision and the UK Court of Appeal referred
the matter to the European Court of Justice – the EU's highest court – which
today found the High Court decision erroneous, stating that: 'The fact that the
land concerned is situated in an area over which the [Cyprus] government does
not exercise effective control... does not preclude the recognition and
enforcement of those judgments in another member state [and]… the fact that Mr
Apostolides might encounter difficulties in having the judgments enforced cannot
deprive them of their enforceability.'

Read ECJ judgment summary here.
(URL: http://curia.europa.eu/en/actu/communiques/cp09/aff/cp090039en.pdf )

Without being a legal expert or understanding just yet what the full
implications of this undoubtedly positive ruling are: two points have struck me
so far following the initial reaction by Cypriot lawyers to today's verdict:

Firstly, the matter is not finished with the ECJ ruling. The case is now back
with the British courts, which have to decide how they are going to enforce the
ECJ verdict. Given the High Court experience and the probable reluctance of a
British court to find itself executing decisions made by a foreign (Cypriot)
court that adversely affect the interests of British citizens, the possibility
remains that a British court will seek to water down or side step the Nicosia
court and ECJ rulings.

Secondly, while the ECJ ruling has potentially devastating implications for EU
citizens who have 'bought' usurped Greek Cypriot land and will surely put off
others considering investing in property in occupied Cyprus; it is likely that
the Turkish occupation regime will seek to ameliorate the consequences for its
'property development' sector by looking for buyers outside the EU – most
probably from Israel and Russia.

####
========================
Cyprus Action Network of America (CANA)
2578 Broadway #132
New York, NY 10025
New York: Tel. 917-699-9935
Email: cana@cyprusactionnetwork.org
www.cyprusactionnetwork.org
========================

Archangeloshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07744354270070129352noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7916833225395274095.post-42539564602880366822009-04-28T21:55:00.000-07:002009-04-28T21:58:01.125-07:00EU must obey Nicosia's rulings, even in north Cyprus, EU court saysEurope News
Apr 28, 2009, 9:06 GMT

Luxembourg - April 24, 2009 — A small but determined contingent of Nuova Patria Meridionale and Hellenic League of America members joined the Armenian community in the Nation's Capitol for the annual Armenian Genocide Vigil. Our support was another example of NPM’s and HLA's concerted effort to show solidarity and forge bonds with other Euro-American identitarian organizations.

It took Herculean might not to pummel the disrespectful counter-protestors horded outside the Turkish embassy. From the moment we arrived to the very end of the protest we were subjected to the most vile and vulgar taunts. Obscenities and racial epithets were hurled at the massive gathering of peaceful protestors, which should be noted were mostly women and children. To their credit the Armenians stayed composed and didn’t sink to their adversaries deplorable level, despite considerable provocation.

The atmosphere on the opposing sides of Massachusetts Avenue couldn’t be starker. The Turkish side was festive and mocking while the Armenians solemnly and painfully remembered the innocent victims of inhuman barbarism. Whenever the 1.5 million death toll was cited the Turks retorted with a hateful, “That wasn’t enough” chant. Instead of the usual denial of the charges they basked in their murderous legacy.

Strangely, the Greek faction of the vigil drove the Turkish throng into a frenzy. Plainly obvious to everyone present they harbor a remarkable hatred for Hellenes, who were singled out for special ridicule. With sadistic delight the Turks barked “Istanbul” and gloatingly waved the rag of Turkish-occupied Cyprus, both historically Greek homelands but now under Turkish occupation.

Ironically, the majority of the Armenians were waving American flags but it was the Turks who carried placards thanking Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton for their support in denying the genocide. Sadly, the Armenian community’s patriotic fervor and loyalty was paid back with betrayal by the United States Government.

Our presence did not go unnoticed. The gracious Armenian community, whose grief and suffering has been largely ignored by the international community, warmly received us.

From http://magnagrece.blogspot.com/

ARMENIAN protest in WASHINGTON DC April 24 2009 (part 1)

ARMENIAN protest in WASHINGTON DC April 24 2009 (part 2)

Archangeloshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07744354270070129352noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7916833225395274095.post-83573449484653614242009-04-25T15:38:00.001-07:002009-04-25T15:38:59.666-07:00Armenian Genocide Protest, Los Angeles 2009

Archangeloshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07744354270070129352noreply@blogger.com0
