The White House Celebrates Hellenic Independence Day

On March 25th a small ceremony was held in Washington DC to celebrate Hellenic Independence Day. All the usual suspects where present, with the normal long winded speeches praising the Hellenic community and motherland, while still avoiding our people’s current political issues. The United States fools no one, but the old corrupt guard of Hellenic community leaders. This nation shows no real gratitude towards Hellas, the birthplace of Democracy and cradle of Western Civilization. It does not truly care about the great sacrifices our people have given the world so that it may remain free.

The United States speaks a good game, about the historical bonds that our nations share and they are right about this. In fact Hellas and the United States, logically speaking should be the closest of allies. Hellenes have never faltered to protect and defend Freedom and Democracy. Ancient Hellas is the birthplace of many of the moral, philosophical and political foundations of the American lifestyle we live today, and yet the United States chooses to build stronger bridges of friendship with our enemies and nations like Israel. How quickly the Americans have forgotten the lives of so many Hellenes that have fallen in protection of this artificial nation they call the United States. In World War II news of the heroic stand that Hellenes and Serbs were making against the enemies of the United States was widely spoken about. Praise came from all the four corners of the earth as these brave men fought against the odds to prevent the spread of fascism across the Balkans. Yet how has the United States repaid us for all those fallen martyrs that died in the face of fascism so that democracy could be safe? They repaid us by allying themselves with the allies of Balkan Fascism in Croatia! In Bosnia! In Albania! And in FYROM! As they reward us with uranium bombs and revisionist propaganda!

How dare you Mr. Archbishop Attempt to compare Obama to a man such as Alexander the Great! Do not insult the Greatest of Hellenes who accomplishment so much for Hellenism in such a short life time, with a man who has done nothing but make empty promises towards Hellenism! Will Obama keep his promises to bring religious freedom to the Patriarchate? Time will tell. Will Obama finally remove the illegal Turkish troops from Cyprus and allow our people to return home? Time will tell. Will Obama change America’s recognition of FYROM as Macedonia? Only time will tell. Perhaps after Obama has kept his word and proven himself a hero in the eyes of Hellenism, could he then be spoken in the same sentence as Alexander the Great! Yet again this is the same Mr. Archbishop who will not even mention the name of the ‘Goliath’ our people stood against in 1821.

CELEBRATE HELLENIC REVOLUTION MARCH 25th 1821-2009

For Immediate Release: March 25, 2009

Contact: Nikolaos Taneris, New York, Tel. 1-917-699-9935

NEW YORK—The Cyprus Action Network of America (CANA) is pleased to report that
Hellenic Revolution day was celebrated early this year in a get together in
Brooklyn, New York together with the Phil-Hellenes of Nuovo Patria Meridionale
(New Southern Homeland), along with the growing Hellenic League of America HLA.
The celebration of Hellenic Revolution was a historic happening , made public
through face book with the call by Hellenic League of America HLA Leader Ioannis
Fidanakis to “join us as we start celebrating Hellenic Independence Day alittle
early this year. Rather then waiting until the official date of March 25th,
we've decided to follow in the foot steps of those revolutionaries that just
couldn't wait to taste freedom and began the war of liberation with the seige of
Kalamata on March 21 1821.” The report on the HLA celebration in Brooklyn last
Saturday , written by Giovanni di Napoli, is quoted below, following a statement
by CANA leader Nikolaos Taneris and HLA Leader Ioannis Fidanakis.

1) Today, we stand united in remembering our National progenitors , the Hellenic
Revolutionaries who in Mani, my mother’s land, set forth to begin a liberation
struggle against the most barbaric oppressors that have every stained human
history, the Turks and their Ottoman Empire. The entire countryside was up in
arms, and even women and the elderly did their part to march to face an enemy
with a seemingly endless supply of men and ammunition from the depths of Asia
and North Africa.

The lessons of 1821 were the same lessons our Nation learned in the Balkan Wars
, in the Struggles against the Persians in Ancient times, and the 1897 war for
Cretaan independence and the EOKA struggle of 1955-1959—it is that it’s not a
“securitate” of paid mercenaries and hired security forces that ever won our
struggles. Our struggles were fought and won by the Hellenic people, who with
indomitable spirit and sacrifice stood up for our Nation, our homes, our land,
our family, our history our way of life.

The Mass Murderer of Hellenism in Asia Minor, the so-called “Ataturk” was quoted
as saying “the only thing we have to fear is if the Greeks ever unite” The
barbarians know that the allure of riches and comforts, will always turn a few
nightmares, like the ancient “Efialtes” who will side with the enemy for he
cannot live up to the Hellenic glory that comes from self less sacrifice.

Today those Efialtes are prevelant in the establishment that looks the other way
as Turks penetrate Aegean air space every single day, as Turks spend millions of
dollars in American academia and in Congress’s corridors and worldwide to negate
their crimes against Hellenism and all humanity, or make Thrace and Cyprus
somehow “Turkish” .

Young Greek-Americans today are allured by the connections and wealth used by
the Turks to dazzle and seduce those weak and ineffectual men and women who
staff US State Department posts and their allies. The Hellenic world has known
many a “Gregory Makris” who do their part to spread Turkish propaganda under the
guise of “friendship” , or in the name of “ending the isolation of the Turkish
Cypriots” Or of “Terry Netos” or “John Sitilides” and many like them who eat
with “silver spoons from both sides”

Our path is the path of resistance. There is no country in recorded history
whose borders have remained unchanged. Mighty empires have come and gone.
Likewise, the Republic of Turkey will not have the same borders forever. No one
knows what can happen in the next 30 years or 300 years, Hellenism we must
remind its offspring for generations to come that those lands which were
unjustly stolen from them will eventually return to their rightful owners.

The just demand for the recovery of our historic lands can disappear once
Hellenes lose all hope and unilaterally give up their dream. This is why we
struggle to keep alive the Remembrance of the Crime of Turkish Invasion in
Cyprus every July 20th, this is why in Washington DC we protest outside the
gates of Turkish Embassy this year, for the third year in a row, we must join
with our brothers in London, in Athens and in free Cyprus to demand “TURKEY
HANDS OFF CYPRUS”

The thousands of missing people, the graves from the Palekythro massacre, the
missing from the village of Strongylos, the dead of Ammochostos of Kyrenia, the
17 who were slaughtered by Turkish Anti-Cypriots and thrown down the well and
covered up with rocks near St. Hilarion castle, and all those tied and bound for
Adana prison in Turkey, all those who were marched off into Anatolia and used
for barbaric scientific experiments by their Turk captors. The families of
Solomou and Issac, killed at Dhyrenia in 1996,and the anonymous 19 year old in
Cyprus in 1974 whose hands were tied yet he still managed to spit into the face
of his murderer-- the Turkish TV star Olgac’s face. All our martyrs demand
justice.

This is why we celebrate March 25th, 1821, the day marking the Hellenic
Revolution because it reminds us that we can win.

With Love of Cyprus, Nikolaos Taneris
Cyprus Action Network of America (CANA)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2) March 25 th symbolizes not only Greek independence from 400 years of Turkish
slavery, it also marks an important turning point in the Hellenic struggle that
continues to this very day in our occupied lands of Anatoliki (Eastern) Thraki,
Cyprus and Vorios (Northern) Epirus, we the HLA celebrate this day in
collaboration with other Hellenic patriotic organizations and continue in the
Klephtic spirit for freedom and equality for all Ethnic Greeks worldwide.

Ioannis Fidanakis, (http://www.enocism.blogspot.com/)

Leader of Hellenic League of America HLA

3) NPA Attend Greek Independence Celebration

SATURDAY MARCH 21, 2009 — In solidarity with the Hellenic League of America
members of the up and coming organization Nuovo Patria Meridionale (New Southern
Homeland) and Cyprus Action Network of America (CANA) gathered at a local café
in Bay Ridge Brooklyn, New York, to celebrate the anniversary of the Greek
uprising against Ottoman tyranny.

Jubilant attendees, sporting Greek and Sicilian flags, warmly received the
events fiery speakers who payed homage to the revolutionaries that began the War
of Liberation. There was much cheer and merrymaking as the celebrants enjoyed
authentic Greek cuisine and spirits in honor of the valiant men and women of
Hellas. Yours truly was lucky enough to win the door prize, a copy of Marjorie
Housepian Dobkin's book, Smyrna 1922. (Read the entire entry here):

Cleopatra is NOT a ‘Sista’: a response to Keith Josef Adkins of TheRoot.com

If you believe in Revisionist Propaganda, the recent buzz circulating on the Internet of new scientific findings about the mixed racial origins of the Famous Cleopatra, are properly making you feel like its Christmas. I myself came across a recent blog entry on TheRoot.com by famous playwright and screenwriter Keith Josef Adkins. Like any Hellenic Patriot, I was outraged to see such Anti-Hellenic propaganda being written so freely. This newest attack on the cultural legacy and identity of Hellenism led me to write my own entry here on Enotitan Revolution. To much my surprise this short entry of mine actually made its way back to Mr. Adkins and led him to leave his own comments on my blog. The following is a response I’ve written to Mr. Adkins, I hope it finds him in good health.

Dear Mr. Keith Josef Adkins,

I am honored to see that you took the time to check out the Enotitan Revolution Blog and felt the need to even leave me a comment. From what I can tell from your own words, I do not believe that you are an Afrocentrist or an Anti-Hellenist, and I will refrain from labeling you as such from now on, unless proven otherwise. Your words seem genuine and since I am a good natured person, I will take you on your word that your post was not done intentionally, as part of a continued Afrocentrist campaign to steal a piece of Hellenism. I feel however it is my duty to inform you that your perception of the truth maybe flawed. And although you maybe trying to merely promote free discuss of a historical discovery, you are unknowingly doing a disservice to your many readers. Although I could chalk this up to simple ignorance on your part, as a person in your standing, you should know better. Therefore I would like to take a moment and enlighten you a little on Cleopatra and her Hellenic Ancestry so that you do not repeat such a mistake in the future.

The very thought that Cleopatra might have some type of African ancestrally is historical inaccurate and in my opinion laughable. Ancient sources clearly identify her as Makedonian, Hellenic by blood and culture. Her primary language was that of her ancestors, Greek. The last in a long line of rulers from the Ptolemies, a family known for inbreeding amongst themselves as to keep apart from the native blood pool. In other words, if she had been of mixed racial origins, it would have been well documented.

Now when it comes to the recent discovery at Ephesus that is causing this whole stir, I’d like you to re-read a few of those news sources.

Cleopatra's mother 'was African'

Cleopatra, the last Egyptian Pharaoh, renowned for her beauty, was part African, says a BBC team which believes it has found her sister's tomb.

Study says Cleopatra was part-African

A team of Austrian archaeologists and forensic experts has found that the last Egyptian Pharaoh, Cleopatra had a part-African heritage.

Notice anything Keith? The recent fuel to the theory that Cleopatra is Black is all based around the finding of the grave of her little sister Arisnoe. Now to the ignorant eye or in some cases the clever Anti-Hellenists eye, this would lead one to the conclusion that if Arisnoe was racially mixed then her sister Cleopatra must have been too, I mean come on they are sisters. The problem with this is that although they are sisters, they are only partially biologically related. You see they are HALF-sisters. What those promoting this new finding fail to report is that they do not share the same mother. Their father Ptolemy XII had two wives, the first of which was Cleopatra’s mother. The second was Arsinoe’s mother. I’m sorry, Cleopatra is still a full blooded Hellenic Queen.

URL: http://hellenicantidote.blogspot.com/2009/03/clinton-invites-cyprus-occupation.html

χρειάζεται τους Τούρκους;

True Face of Israeli Democracy

Israeli Army T-Shirts Mock Gaza Killings

One, printed for a platoon of Israeli snipers depicts an armed Palestinian pregnant women caught in the crosshairs of a rifle, with the disturbing caption in English: "1 shot 2 kills".

Another depicts a child carrying a gun also in the centre of a target.

"The smaller, the harder," read the words on the t-shirt.

According to a soldier interviewed by the newspaper, the message has a double meaning: "It's a kid, so you've got a little more of a problem, morally and also the target is smaller."

Is this the true face of America's free and democratic Middle Eastern ally? Shame on Israel! Why is this type of sick double standard allowed to continue in today's civilized world? If such a shirt was made towards Jews it would create a media frenzy! The descendants of the Holocaust should know better!

NEW YORK—The Cyprus Action Network of America (CANA) distributes a report based

Clinton’s visit to Turkey, to falsely legitimize the illegal military-invasions
and military-occupation perpetrated by Turkey in Cyprus:

Clinton invites Cyprus occupation leader to Washington by Hellenic Antidote
blog, Friday, 20 March 2009

URL: http://hellenicantidote.blogspot.com/2009/03/clinton-invites-cyprus-occupation.html

In a previous post, I suggested that the statement US Secretary of State Hillary
Clinton released with her Turkish counterpart, Ali Babacan, concerning Cyprus,
which called for the lifting of the 'isolation' of the Turkish Cypriots, was
meaningless and didn't reflect an attempt by the USA to upgrade the status of
Turkey's pseudo-state in the north; but it seems I was being naive and didn't
appreciate how mind-bogglingly hypocritical, cowardly and base American foreign
policy is.

Below is an article from yesterday's (Cypriot daily) Phileleftheros (my
translation), which reveals that in an effort to boost the status of Mehmet Ali
Talat, leader of the Turkish occupation regime in Cyprus, Clinton has invited
him for an official visit to Washington. The Phileleftheros article is also
noteworthy for drawing attention to the fact that the chief architect of the
US's efforts to upgrade the Turkish occupation regime in Cyprus is a
Greek-American diplomat, Gregory Makris. With Greeks like these, who needs
Turks?

Hillary does a favour for Erdogan and invites Talat to Washington

The leader of the Turkish Cypriots, Mehmet Ali Talat, will be in New York and
Washington at the end of next week to meet with UN Secretary General Ban-Ki
Moon, and the US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and National Security
Adviser James Jones.

An American official told Phileleftheros he 'couldn't confirm the information';
but another source said the meeting with Clinton is 'certain', even if
Washington is now having second thoughts after receiving protests from Athens
and Nicosia, who made it clear that any meeting with the occupation leader would
be considered extremely provocative.

Nicosia is particularly annoyed that the Americans are boosting Talat and
upgrading his political status while the US secretary of state has yet to meet
her Cypriot counterpart and, indeed, the new American government has so far not
invited any Cypriot official to Washington.

Nicosia considers the American move raises serious questions about America's
motives and displays extreme bias, especially at a time when negotiations for a
Cyprus settlement are in progress.

One American diplomat told Phileleftheros that Clinton's proposed meeting with
Talat would send out the wrong message to President Christofias.

'Before Christofias was elected,' the diplomat said, 'we could have tried to
justify such a move by saying the president was the hardliner Tassos
Papadopoulos. But now the president is someone who has a fervent wish to find a
Cyprus solution.'

According to reliable sources, during their recent meeting in Ankara, Turkish
prime minister Recip Tayyip Erdogan asked Clinton, as a personal favour to him,
to meet with Talat.

Clinton didn't exclude the possibility and agreed to discuss it with her
advisers.

The same sources reveal that the US embassy in Cyprus, on the advice of
Greek-American Gregory Makris, head of the embassy's political section,
recommended that Erdogan's request be accepted, noting that such a meeting
between Talat and Clinton would assist Talat in the internal politics of the
pseudo-state.

Makris, who frequently speaks out against the president of Cyprus, is known to
be a strong supporter of ending the so-called 'isolation' of the Turkish
Cypriots. He mentions the issue in nearly all the correspondence he sends from
Nicosia.

The Greek-American diplomat, in his private discussions, refuses to accept that
the so-called 'isolation' of the Turkish Cypriots is a consequence of the
Turkish occupation of northern Cyprus.

Anti-White Racism spreads in UK

'Too white' towns are labelled unhealthy
By David Leppard and Graham Hind

Towns being labelled 'unhealthy' because they are 'too white', sounds crazy but this is what is happening in the United Kingdom. Forced Multiculturalism has gone to far, no matter what ethnicity you are or what color skin you have, the thought of being forced to live side by side with others you may not normally choose to live near is wrong and unethical. These Neo-Fascist tendencies of the British government are appalling. Would it be unhealthy if a town was "too black" or "too Asian"? I wonder...

Anti-Hellenic Revisionism continues

Cleopatra was a Sista' and a Killer
By Keith Josef Adkins

"Cleopatra: A Portrait of a Killer airs Monday, March 23 on BBC One. And get this, archeologists are finally letting the tightly-curled hair and full lips out of the white-washed bag. That's right, the documentary plans to set the record straight: Cleopatra looked nothing like velvet-eyed, porcelain white Elizabeth Taylor. In fact, Cleopatra's mother was a black African. In fact, Cleopatra paraded among her Roman cronies and insisted [a la Halle Berry in her star-making moment in Queen] "I's Nigra, I's Nigra." You know, in case the Romans didn't know a sister when they saw one."

Yet again Afrocentrists unable to show anything of their own cultural importance continue their campaign to steal ancient Hellenic history. It is a widely known historical fact that Cleopatra was of Hellenic (Macedonian) ancestry and was NOT a 'sista' in anyway shape or form. Yet many African-Americans continue their attempt steal Cleopatra from Hellenism. The author's inability to approach the topic on an academic level, rather then using Ebonics to carry along his argument just goes to show you how sad the Afrocentric community is. Perhaps one day Afrocentrists will find actual African heroes to look up to instead of stealing important figures from other ethnic groups.

Kurdish Blog quotes CANA

The Kurdish blog Rasti quoted a Cyprus Action Network of America press release in a recent March 5th entry titled 'AMERICA'S EDUCATION: FUNDED BY THE TURKISH REPUBLIC'. The press released used in the article mentions the Turkish lobby's funding of the irrendentist and highly anti-Hellenic Skopian lobby. I would like to congratulate and thank CANA for its continued work on getting the Hellenic perspective out to other ethnic communities.

Anti-Hellenism reins in FYROM

This past Sunday Hellenic tourists visiting the city of Ochrida, or Ohrid as the Skopians call it were attached by ‘unknown’ assailants. These Anti-Hellenists vandalized buses, via stoning them after they had been spray-painted with Macedonist propaganda. In the end two Hellenes were injured from confrontation. This outrageous racist attack on innocent tourists is just the most recent manifestation of Anti-Hellenism inside FYROM. “Such incidents…are the visible result of the nationalism and bigotry against Greece which has been cultivated by Skopje”, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Giorgos Koumoutsakos. Such acts of hate have no place inside a United Europe. The Racist and Irredentist regime in FYROM continues to show its inability to promote peaceful relations with its neighbors, which only goes to show that this small nation does not deserve membership in the clubs of civilized Europe.

Let the Diaspora Vote!

For many in the Diaspora, the recent vote on a bill to broaden the voting rights of Hellenes living abroad has been watched with great interest and enthusiasm, however, this bill has recently become a dead issue because of PASOK and its socialist allies. A chance for bridging the gap between Hellenes of the Diaspora and those still living within the Motherland has been lost. An opportunity for our successful and well educated Diaspora to aid our motherland, has been cast aside because of the fear of change, because it threatens the status quo and the corruption that thrives because of it. This newest act of partisanship in Ellada only hurts the Hellenic people, rather then helping them.

This bill, would have allowed Hellenic nationals living in Diaspora to vote at their nearest consulate or embassy. Something that would have made it much easier for those living abroad to participate in national elections, as currently the economic burden of traveling to Ellada to vote is viewed as to great by most. Hundreds of thousands of potential voters, foreign-educated, successful and patriotic, who do not conform to the continued PASOK or New Democracy worship that works against Hellenism, are being denied a chance to bring real change to Ellada.

The Hellenic left is fearful of the Diaspora, and their potential to bring real change to Ellada. The political and economic change that could come with such a law can only benefit the Hellenic state and its citizens. The Hellenic left is not concern in aiding the suffering Hellenic people, but rather at re-conquering the seat of power from New Democracy. So that our nation may trade one old corrupt family for another. Shame on PASOK! SHAME on the Hellenic Left and SHAME on New Democracy for allowing this to happen!

UK Jewish MP: Israel acting like Nazis in Gaza

The words of this brave man should and must be listen to by not only the British public, but the international community. Peace can not happen in Palestine while a Racist Zionist regime rules.
