Ankara and Skopje Join Forces in “War” Against Greece

Athens- Ankara and Skopje have joined forces in a “war” against Greece. Turkey, for instance, is laying claim on half of Greek territory through an official document by the Turkish Joint Chiefs of Staff that also demands that international maps be modified accordingly. The map accompanying the document shows clear territorial claims that Turkey is making in Thrace and the Dodecanese islands. Through a powerful U.S. lobby, Turkey is also providing massive financial aid to Skopje’s anti-Greek propaganda. Meanwhile, it seems that the negotiations on the name dispute are heading in the direction of a package of proposals that includes many of the recent issues that Skopje has provocatively raised.
