Greek And Turkish Supporters Battle With Words In Washington

WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA)--Greek and Turkish supporters yelled at each other across Massachussetts Avenue NW on the 34th anniversary of Turkey's invasion of Cyprus. In July 1974, a military coup deposed the then president of Cyprus Archbishop Makarios, a Greek Cypriot, who was elected president after giving up plans to unify with Greece.
