Brandi (Mena Suvari) hits Tom (Stephen Rea) with her car on her way home from a night of partying. With Tom still alive but lodged through her windshield, she promises to go a hospital but then decides to leave Tom to die in her garage as she realizes that her future is inextricably tied to her victim. Realizing this plan, Tom knows escape is his only chance for survival."

The Movie is based on a true story. The following is a link to a news article about the terrible accident (here). The funny thing is the race of the woman who ran "Tom", his real name Gregory Biggs, over with her car has been changed. The True life "Brandi", her real name Chante Mallard, was an African American woman, who has now been replaced by a white woman in the movie. Revisionism, now matter how small, must not be allowed. Millions of people will come to watch this movie in theaters and will walk away thinking exactly what the movie's director wants them to think. Its small things like 'just a movie' that have the greatest impact on average people.
